Special Olympics Truck Convoy

Koch Trucking proudly participated in the 2017 Special Olympics MN Truck Convoy on Saturday September 30th out at Running Aces in Columbus, MN.

The Truck Convoy is a two-day celebration that helps raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota. Inspired by the powerful impact Special Olympics has had on his life through his participation in the Law Enforcement Torch Run and combined with his family’s involvement with the trucking industry, Norm Schneiderhan, a Corporal with the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Department, created the world’s largest Truck Convoy.

It was a chilly 46 degrees that morning as we rolled out of the Harding yard. The cold weather did not stop our drivers and employees from supporting a great cause. We had drivers that have been here for a mere 2 weeks to drivers who have been here over 20 years. Our drivers and employees were proud and honored to be part of such a great cause. We had 6 Special Olympians riding with us from the Western Wings team. The kids were so excited to ride in our Big Rigs and loved the sound of the horns as we honked all the way down the highway. There were a total of 96 trucks at this year’s convoy. Koch had the 2nd highest participation with 15 trucks. For every truck we had, Koch Trucking will donate $100 to the Special Olympics. That is $1500. AMAZING! (as written by Erin Cannon, edited by Angela Stangler MacLeod)
